My story
Human behaviour has always fascinated me. I studied cognitive science and human-computer interaction back in Sweden but didn't understand there was a job in it. I moved to Berlin before I finished and started as a customer care agent for a VPN startup. In 2017, after three years in Germany, I started to miss my family and decided I wanted a job where I could work from anywhere in the world to be able to visit them more often. I started talking to friends about what I enjoyed with my past jobs. One of them said "it sounded like I wanted to be a UX designer". I looked it up and it was all my interests and strengths combined into an absolute dream job. I decided to give it five years, as I heard that is around the time it takes to get good at something.
At first, I learned through YouTube, Medium articles, books, meet-ups, and mentorship. I also took on some projects at the VPN startup in my free time – see how that went in this archived case study.
When I felt ready to take the leap, I left my customer care job and rounded off my studies with a UX design course. Two months after that, I landed my first job. I have since worked in two more companies and I continue to learn every day.

Preference
I prefer working in a product trio setting where the full team, with product manager, designer, and engineers, are involved throughout the product development process. Give me dedicated colleagues, a well defined product outcome, and clear target users and I'll be in my happy place.
You will not enjoy working with me if you are looking for a yes-woman, dislike curiosity, or if you prefer your designers to stay out of product and strategy work.
